Cameron Johnson is an Associate Professor of Art at Meredith College, teaching Drawing, Design Theory, Painting, and Printmaking. A Charlotte native, he trained at Northwest School of the Arts before earning BFA and MFA degrees in Painting and Drawing from East Carolina University (ECU).
Johnson maintains an active studio practice focused on figurative painting, mural production, and interdisciplinary approaches to visual storytelling. His creative research explores urban narratives and community representation through public art interventions.
His artwork has received significant recognition including Best in Show and First Place Painting awards at the Illumina Art Exhibition, and First Place in the Rebel Show. Notable commissions include murals for Princeville's Heritage Park commemorating local history and large-scale public installations in downtown Charlotte.
