معرفی
Zhenyu Wang is a Researcher at the University of South Florida's College of Engineering, affiliated with the Department of Civil & Environmental Engineering and the Center for Urban Transportation Research (CUTR). His expertise spans transportation safety, traffic engineering, intelligent transportation systems, and traffic simulation. He holds a Ph.D. from the University of South Florida (2008), an M.S. from Chang’an University, and a B.S. from Taiyuan University of Technology.
Dr. Wang has led 17 funded research projects and developed four software tools for the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT). His research focuses on improving traffic safety through advanced methodologies, including crash modification factors, Bayesian networks, and spatial analysis. Notable projects include studies on work zone safety, pedestrian crashes, and motorcycle crash dynamics on rural highways.
His articles emphasize data-driven approaches to understanding crash severity, driver behavior, and infrastructure impacts. Recent trends highlight innovations in low-cost safety countermeasures and the integration of geospatial data for urban safety planning. Dr. Wang teaches a graduate-level Transportation Safety course and contributes to academic peer review and thesis committees.
As part of CUTR, he collaborates with multidisciplinary teams on initiatives such as the National Institute for Congestion Reduction and the ITS (Intelligent Transportation Systems) program. His work aligns with CUTR’s mission to advance sustainable, multimodal transportation solutions through research and education.
