Dr. Zephanie Tyack is an Associate Professor and Principal Research Fellow in Implementation Science at QUT's Faculty of Health, School of Public Health & Social Work. She leads research at the Australian Institute of Health Services Research (AusHSI) and the Centre for Healthcare Transformation. Her expertise spans evaluating innovative treatments, models of care, and implementation science in burns, trauma, rehabilitation, and community settings. She holds a PhD from the University of Queensland and chairs ISOQOL's child health special interest group and an implementation science group in child health.
Research interests include patient engagement, health-related quality of life, pediatric care, burn scar treatments, and medical hypnosis. Current projects focus on care navigators, patient-reported outcomes, and interventions for neurodevelopmental conditions. She has over 50 peer-reviewed publications in top-tier journals.
Her recent articles emphasize burns care, implementation science, and pediatric health. Key projects include NAVICARE (care navigation in rural mental health) and studies on laser treatments for burn scars. She collaborates with international networks and editorial boards (e.g., Frontiers in Pediatrics).
Grants and supervision include studies on opioid use in spinal injuries, teleoptometry services, and implementation of clinical decision support systems. She supervises PhD candidates exploring topics like CDSS integration and telehealth.
