Zelalem MENGESHA is a Lecturer in Public Health at the University of Canberra. His research focuses on global health disparities, refugee and migrant health, sexual and reproductive health equity, and undernutrition in Sub-Saharan Africa. He has been actively involved in projects such as 'Refugee relationships with urban green and blue spaces' and 'Evaluation of Cross Roads: Pre-Men's Behavior Change Project.'
His work contributes to UN Sustainable Development Goals related to good health and well-being, quality education, gender equality, and reduced inequalities. Recent research highlights include analyzing undernutrition in children across 26 African countries and investigating cancer burden disparities globally. He has also explored mental health impacts of resettlement for refugees and inclusive healthcare practices.
MENGESHA's projects often involve collaborations with international researchers and organizations. He is currently accepting PhD students and has published over 30 peer-reviewed articles since 2012, emphasizing methodological approaches like scoping reviews and mixed methods evaluations.
