Zak Ratajczak

Zak Ratajczak is an Assistant Professor at Kansas State University’s Division of Biology. His research examines how ecosystems respond to climate change and land management, with emphasis on fire, large mammals, and climate extremes in tallgrass prairies.

His work utilizes observational studies, experiments, theoretical modeling, and simulations to investigate ecological resilience, tipping points in management systems, and effects of reintroduced disturbances on climate adaptation.

He leads the Grassland Ecology and Resilience Lab, which studies resilience thresholds and conservation strategies for grasslands.
