معرفی
Zachary Redman, Ph.D., is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Chemistry at the University of Alaska Anchorage. His research focuses on applying modern analytical chemistry techniques to study environmental processes, particularly in high-latitude ecosystems. He teaches courses in general and analytical chemistry, including CHEM A105, A106, A218, and A418.
Education: Ph.D. in Agricultural and Environmental Chemistry (University of California, Davis) and B.S. in Chemistry with a minor in Environmental Toxicology (University of California, Davis).
Research interests include:
- Photochemical degradation mechanisms of sub-Arctic aquatic contaminants
- Hydrocarbon oxidation products in oil spills
- Glacier recession impacts on dissolved organic matter
- Microplastics in Arctic/Sub-Arctic environments
Publications (2025–2016) highlight work on pesticide degradation, crude oil photochemistry, and herbicide mobility in Alaskan ecosystems. He leads the ASET Lab, focusing on analytical workflows, instrumentation maintenance, and training researchers.
Teaching emphasizes hands-on laboratory experiments, including pesticide analysis methods and chemical instrumentation.
