Graham Sadler is a part-time PhD Candidate at the Scott Polar Research Institute (University of Cambridge). After a career in the oil and gas industry, he returned to academia in 2020 to focus on anthropogenic pollution monitoring in high latitudes using high-resolution satellite imagery, particularly in the Russian Arctic and sub-Arctic. His work bridges remote sensing, GIS, and environmental impact assessment.
- Education: BSc in Geography (UCL, 1984), MBA (Warwick University, 2005)
- External Activities: Member of European Geosciences Union (EGU), Fellow of Geological Society, Royal Geographical Society, and other Arctic/energy-focused organizations (since 2012–2023)
Research Focus: Graham’s work addresses the vulnerability of Arctic ecosystems to industrial accidents like oil spills. He leverages satellite imagery and GIS tools to develop cost-effective monitoring solutions for remote areas with limited infrastructure. His research emphasizes ESG compliance and data analytics for energy sector clients.
Publications (2022) highlight his expertise in Arctic pollution and remote sensing applications. He also consults for startups in the energy and resource sector, applying his industry experience to modern environmental challenges.
