Yvalia Febrer is an Associate Professor of Social Work and Teaching & Learning Lead for Social Work and Social Care at Kingston University London. She also serves as Academic Co-Lead for Future Skills. Her roles include Trustee of the Social Pedagogy Professional Association and Editorial Board member for the International Journal of Social Pedagogy. She is a registered Social Worker with Social Work England and holds qualifications including MA Social Work, BA (Hons) Russian and Italian, and Qualified Practice Educator (PEPS 2).
Her research focuses on Social Pedagogy, Child Protection, PTSD, and Child & Adult Attachment, informed by her professional background in Children & Families Social Work and Child Protection. She has leadership experience with the London Boroughs and Frontline social work training programme.
Awarded National Teaching Fellow (2023) and Senior Fellow of the Higher Education Academy, her contributions extend to equality initiatives such as founding the Kingston University Staff LGBTQI+ Network and serving on EDI committees.
