Lesley La-Croix serves as a full-time Lecturer (Education) in Social Work at Brunel University London within the Department of Health Sciences, College of Health, Medicine and Life Sciences. Appointed in September 2023, she brings over 30 years of frontline social care experience including 15 years in independent foster care settings as a Supervising Social Worker, Manager, Designated Safeguarding Lead, and Registered Manager.

- MA in Education and Training
- Practice Education Programmes (PEPs) 1 & 2
- Diploma in Leadership for Health & Social Care
- Postgraduate Certificate in Clinical Education
Currently a fifth-year Doctoral candidate in the College of Business, Arts and Social Sciences (since 2021), her research examines newly qualified social workers' transition into autonomous practice. She champions Bell Hooks' engaged pedagogy model, creating participatory learning environments that foster resilience and reflective practice through research-informed teaching.

Lesley supervises MA dissertations and mentors student social workers through experiential learning modules. As a member and Assessor of the Social Work Education Board, she reviews academic journal submissions. Her current teaching portfolio encompasses Legislation and Social Justice (SW5630), Practising Social Work (SW5626), Practice Placement Year 1 (SW5632), and Developing Professional Practice Stage 1A (SW3611), directly applying her field experience to curriculum development.
