Yuyuan Shi is a Lecturer at Northumbria University, specializing in 3D weaving innovation and apparel technology. She holds a PhD in Technologies from the University of Leeds (2023), an MEng in Engineering from Sichuan University (2018), and a BA in Fashion Design from the same institution (2015). She is also a Visiting Researcher at RWTH-Aachen University, Germany, funded by the AROP Program, where she focuses on cross-disciplinary textile research.
Her research integrates cutting-edge weaving technologies with digital tools, emphasizing sustainable apparel manufacturing, zero-waste production, and functional wearables like sportswear and protective gear.
