He holds a PhD in Criminology from the University of Manchester (2017-2021), alongside master's degrees from the University of Leeds and King's College London. Prior to Cardiff, he taught part-time at London South Bank University and worked as a teaching assistant at the University of Manchester.
His research focuses on far-right movements in Japan, examining psychosocial motivations and the neoliberal context. Current projects explore fraud victimization in Japan, including 'special fraud' (tokushu sagi).
Teaching responsibilities include modules on criminological positivism, hate crime, and transnational crimes at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels.
Publications span journals like Journal of Economic Criminology and Global Crime, addressing topics such as romance fraud victimization, far-right activism, and digital vigilantism in Japan. A book chapter in The Ethics of Researching the Far Right (2024) reflects his engagement with methodological and ethical challenges in this field.
