Dr. Yurii Khomskii is a Senior Lecturer and Academic Tutor at Amsterdam University College (AUC), and holds a Privatdozent position at Universität Hamburg. He is also a guest researcher at the Institute of Logic, Language and Computation (ILLC) at the University of Amsterdam. His primary research focuses on mathematical logic and set theory, particularly the structure of the real line, regularity properties, descriptive set theory, forcing, and generalized Baire spaces. He completed his PhD in 2012 at the University of Amsterdam under Prof. Benedikt Löwe and Dr. Jörg Brendle, followed by a Habilitation in 2018 at Hamburg University. He has held postdoctoral positions at the Kurt Gödel Research Center (Vienna) and Hamburg University, and was a Marie Sklodowska-Curie Fellow at Hamburg University.
His teaching includes courses in mathematical logic, linear algebra, calculus, statistics, and set theory at AUC, alongside advanced seminars at Hamburg University and the ILLC. Key research contributions include work on forcing independence proofs, regularity properties in generalized spaces, and definability in set theory. His awards include the prestigious Marie Sklodowska-Curie Fellowship and the Habilitation degree. Current research explores topics like symbiosis in set theory and non-classical logics in foundational mathematics. He actively guides student projects in advanced set theory and logic.
