Giorgio Laguzzi is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Mathematical Logic at the Mathematical Institute of the University of Freiburg, Germany. He is a member of the research group led by Prof. Dr. Heike Mildenberger and Prof. Dr. Amador Martin-Pizarro.
Dr. Laguzzi's research is centered on Mathematical Logic, with a primary focus on Set Theory. His work extensively investigates forcing notions, regularity properties of the real line, generalized Baire spaces, and infinitary combinatorics. He has also explored connections between set theory and mathematical economics, particularly in the area of social welfare relations.
His publication record over the last decade shows a consistent and high-quality output in top journals. The articles demonstrate a clear research trajectory: starting with foundational work on arboreal forcing and regularity properties, moving into generalized Baire spaces and uncountable trees, and branching into applications in social choice theory. This indicates a deep expertise in core set-theoretic techniques and an ability to apply them to diverse problems.
Dr. Laguzzi is an active educator, having taught courses and seminars on Mathematical Logic, Infinitary Combinatorics, and Infinite Games at the University of Freiburg, and Descriptive Set Theory at the University of Hamburg. He has also served as a teaching assistant for numerous advanced courses.
