Yuqing Feng is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Biology at York University's Faculty of Science. Their research focuses on understanding the genetic and biochemical mechanisms underlying antibody diversification in B cells, particularly the role of mutagenic DNA repair pathways in somatic hypermutation and class switch recombination. They investigate how interactions between base excision repair (BER) and mismatch repair (MMR) pathways influence antibody repertoire development and lymphomagenesis caused by off-target AID deamination.
Research employs biochemical, molecular genetic, and immunological tools using cell line and mouse models. Key topics include Activation Induced cytidine Deaminase (AID) function, error-prone DNA repair processes, and their implications in immune defense and cancer biology.
