Yun Shi

Yun Shi serves as an Assistant Professor in the Counselor Education department at Portland State University's College of Education, joining the faculty in 2022 after completing her PhD in Counseling at Oregon State University.

Dr. Shi's research centers on culturally responsive counseling applications for diverse populations across U.S. and international contexts, with specialized focus on trauma's impact on relational and systemic dynamics. As a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) and active member of the American Counseling Association, Association of Counselor Education and Supervision, and International Association of Marriage and Family Counselors, she integrates clinical expertise with academic training.

Her teaching portfolio spans MCFC specialty courses alongside foundational counseling curriculum including Theories and Interventions, Career Counseling, and Internship practica. Dr. Shi maintains a decade-long commitment to counselor training through international presentations and publications since 2010.
