Rashunda Miller Reed, PhD, LPC-S, LMFT-SC, is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Counseling at the School of Allied Health Professions, Louisiana State University Health Sciences Center (LSUHSC). She joined LSU in 2024 and serves as faculty for the Clinical Mental Health Counseling Track, holding credentials as a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) in Louisiana, Marriage & Family Therapist (LMFT) in Louisiana and Indiana, and National Certified Counselor (NCC).
Her educational background includes:
- Doctorate in Counselor Education and Supervision from University of Holy Cross (2016)
Dr. Miller Reed's research centers on trauma exposure in research settings, ethical challenges in counseling practice, and interdisciplinary healthcare collaboration. With over 14 years of clinical experience across schools, home-based therapy, and private practice, she integrates practitioner insights into her scholarship. She is trained in Internal Family Systems (IFS) for couples/individuals and certified in Discernment Counseling for high-conflict relationships.
Her 2023 publications analyze vicarious trauma among human subjects researchers and counselor attitudes toward healthcare collaboration, revealing critical gaps in ethical support systems and interdisciplinary communication within mental health services.
Dr. Miller Reed serves as a board-approved supervisor for Provisionally Licensed Professional Counselors (PLPCs) in Louisiana and is under mentorship for supervising Provisionally Licensed Marriage & Family Therapists (PLMFTs), leveraging her extensive clinical experience to train emerging practitioners.
