Ysemena Robert is a Lecturer and Teaching Assistant at the Faculty of Nursing (FSI) of the University of Montreal. With 13 years of nursing experience at the University of Montreal Hospital Center (CHUM), she previously held roles such as interim assistant head nurse, nursing advisor, and internship supervisor. She currently explores intercultural care approaches in Quebec's health system and advocates for cultural sensitivity in end-of-life care. Her master's research (2013–2016) focused on integrating cultural competence education for individuals experiencing end-of-life care.

Her research emphasizes cultural care in palliative settings, pandemic-related healthcare challenges, and nursing leadership. She collaborated with the CHUM's palliative care team to train staff on cultural support and led pandemic response efforts in PPE training and patient care during the early COVID-19 waves.
Philosophy: Prioritizes mentorship of future nurses, emphasizing clinical leadership, cultural empathy, and holistic patient care. She believes in empowering healthcare teams and families through education and support, reflecting her commitment to 'helping others get up.'
