Dr. Michèle De Guise is the CEO of the National Institute of Excellence in Health and Social Services (INESSS) since 2022, leading efforts to improve healthcare quality and population well-being. She holds a doctorate in medicine from the Université de Montréal and has extensive experience in cardiology, hematology-oncology, and healthcare administration. Her career includes roles as Director of Health Promotion at the CHUM and Vice President of Science at INESSS.
Education: Doctorate in Medicine (Université de Montréal, 1992), fellowship in preventive cardiology at the Montreal Heart Institute, and a fellowship in cardiac ultrasound in London. Completed the International Master's in Health Leadership at McGill University.
Research interests focus on integrating patient-centered care, healthcare innovation, and evidence-based practices. She pioneered initiatives like the CHUM's cardiac rehabilitation center and the Rond-Point program for drug-addicted mothers. Advocates for equitable, collaborative leadership and the inclusion of patient perspectives in healthcare decision-making.
Leadership Philosophy: Emphasizes humility, resilience, and shared decision-making. Believes healthcare systems must rebalance priorities with patients to ensure ethical and effective care.
