Yousun Chung is a Lecturer of Oboe at Princeton University and serves as a faculty member in the Oboe performance division at The Juilliard School Pre-college Division and the Mannes School of Music Prep Division. She also holds the title of Adjunct Assistant Professor of Oboe at Brooklyn College Conservatory of Music. Previously, she was a Senior Artist Teacher at the Hartt School of Music (University of Hartford) and a teaching artist at Columbia University for the Dolan Prize selection.
Ms. Chung holds a Bachelor’s and Master’s from The Juilliard School, and a Professional Studies degree from the Mannes School of Music. Her mentors included Elaine Douvas, Eugene Izotov, John Mack, Linda Strommen, and Richard Dallessio.
Her artistic and educational focus centers on inclusive music accessibility, exemplified through her role as Artistic Director of Music Aloud, an organization supporting underserved first-generation and low-income students. She frequently organizes recitals and fundraising concerts with students and colleagues across New York.
As a performer, she has appeared with prestigious ensembles such as the Metropolitan Opera Orchestra, New York Philharmonic, and Sejong Soloists, alongside roles in chamber music and orchestral settings across Europe, Asia, and the U.S.
