Yoojin Muhn

Yoojin Muhn, D.M.A. is an Assistant Professor and Director of Choral Activities at the University of Texas at San Antonio (UTSA) in the College of Liberal and Fine Arts. She also serves as Music Director of the San Antonio Mastersingers, a 120-voice volunteer chorus.

• Doctor of Musical Arts in Choral Music with honors from University of Southern California
• Master of Music in Choral Conducting from University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music
• Master of Music in Sacred Music (with distinction) from Westminster Choir College
• Bachelor of Arts in Composition from SookMyung Women’s University, South Korea

Her research interests focus on enhancing choral excellence, cultural representation in music (particularly from Eastern Asia), and training in sacred music traditions. She has led performances of iconic works like Mozart’s Requiem at Carnegie Hall and Jake Runestad’s Earth Symphony at national conferences.

Dr. Muhn has received prestigious fellowships at the Oregon Bach Festival and Norfolk Chamber Music Festival at Yale School of Music. She has been an invited clinician and conductor for events such as the Louisiana All-State Choir (2025) and will conduct Fauré’s Requiem at Carnegie Hall in 2026.

She teaches courses in choral conducting (MUS 2402, MUS 3153), directs the UTSA Chamber Singers (MUS 3831), and leads private conducting instruction (MUS 5542). Her work bridges academic training with professional choral leadership.
