Luke Browder is a Lecturer of Choral and Vocal Studies at Clemson University's College of Arts and Humanities, where he conducts Men's and Women's Choirs and teaches Music History to 1750. He holds a Bachelor of Music from Furman University and a Master of Music from Converse College, with ongoing doctoral studies (ABD) in Choral Conducting at the University of South Carolina. His conducting mentors include Dr. Alicia Walker, Dr. Leslie Hicken, and Dr. Bingham Vick, Jr.
His expertise spans choral conducting, voice instruction, and music ministry. He directs church choirs at John Knox Presbyterian in Greenville, leading the Chancel Choir, Handbell Choir, and Children's Choir. Browder has over 20 years of experience in South Carolina as a musician, theatre artist, and educator, with affiliations including North Greenville University, Lawson Academy of the Arts, Spartanburg Festival Chorus, and Greenville Chorale's professional Chamber Ensemble.
His research interests focus on historical and contemporary choral repertoire, vocal technique, and the intersection of sacred music with community engagement. He has led significant performances of works like Duruflé's Requiem and Britten's Rejoice in the Lamb with the USC Summer Chorus.
