Dr. Yongsheng Guo is a Senior Lecturer in Accounting and Finance at Teesside University, part of the TUIBS (Tees Business School) unit. He holds a PhD in Accounting from the University of Glasgow, an MBA from Tsinghua University, and a BSc in Chemistry from Zhengzhou University. Previously, he worked as a financial manager at China Construction Bank for eight years before transitioning to academia in 2000 at Glasgow University. He moved to Teesside University in 2007, where he led the MSc Accounting and Finance program and taught courses in financial accounting, corporate governance, CSR, ESG frameworks, and cybersecurity.
His research focuses on sustainable finance, cross-cultural studies in transnational education (TNE), ethical finance, and FDI dynamics. Notable projects include investigations into cryptocurrency innovation, ESG performance metrics, and FDI in African markets. He serves as an external examiner at Leeds Beckett University and the University of Hertfordshire.
Guo’s work emphasizes global economic issues such as SME financing challenges and ethical decision-making in minority businesses. His recent studies explore fintech’s role in environmental sustainability and the impact of cultural psychology on financial behaviors.
