Jonny Munby is a Principal Lecturer (International) at Teesside University Business School (TUIBS), where he supports international student initiatives, curriculum internationalization, partner institution collaborations, and international research. He is the Course Leader for the BA (Hons) Accounting and Finance program, overseeing module delivery, student recruitment, progression, graduate outcomes, and pastoral care. He teaches across management accounting, financial accounting, business management, and economics.

Jonny is a Chartered Management Accountant (ACMA, CGMA) with prior experience in NHS hospital and commissioning sectors. His research focuses on the economics of inequality, the role of SMEs in regional prosperity, and the interplay between rationality, choice, and morality. He also investigates governance, internal controls, and revenue mobilization, particularly in public and educational institutions.
His recent research includes a study on COSO preventative control operations and their impact on revenue mobilization in Ugandan schools, highlighting his interest in public financial management and accountability in developing contexts. This work intersects with broader themes of governance, control activities, and institutional performance.
