Yolanda Gallardo

Yolanda Gallardo, Ph.D., serves as Dean of the School of Education at Gonzaga University since July 2019. Prior roles include Associate Director for the ESL/Dual Language Program at Kansas State University, Associate Dean of Undergraduate Education at Georgetown College, and Dean of Education at Georgetown College.

Her research focuses on multicultural and bilingual education, curriculum development, and instructional design. She has contributed to creating bilingual/bicultural educational frameworks and has extensive experience in elementary education policy.

Dr. Gallardo taught elementary school for 12 years in Arizona near the Mexico border, where she designed a dual language program, served as a bilingual consultant and district writing specialist, and assisted in establishing a bilingual/bicultural school. She has held leadership roles in academic administration throughout her career.
