معرفی
Prof. Yohei Yamauchi is a Full Professor at ETH Zürich's Department of Chemistry and Applied Biosciences, where he leads research in virology and cell biology. His work focuses on viral entry mechanisms, host-pathogen interactions, and antiviral discovery, with particular emphasis on influenza and SARS-CoV-2. Prof. Yamauchi employs cutting-edge techniques including advanced microscopy, proteomics, and computational modeling to investigate viral infection pathways.
His research explores:
- Molecular mechanisms of virus uncoating and assembly
- Host cell factors enabling viral entry
- Development of broad-spectrum antivirals
- Application of advanced imaging technologies in virology
Analysis of recent publications shows strong focus on viral entry mechanisms (particularly influenza and SARS-CoV-2), host-pathogen interactions, and antiviral development. Technological themes include advanced microscopy, high-throughput screening, and computational modeling of infection processes.
Awards & Honors:
- Pfizer Research Prize for Infectiology (2016)
- ERC Synergy Grant CHUbVi (2019)
- European Commission Project of the Month (2020)
Prof. Yamauchi leads the Molecular Medicine lab at ETH Zürich, fostering a collaborative environment for virus cell biology research. The lab maintains international collaborations and focuses on training the next generation of virologists.
