Yiting Deng is an Associate Professor of Marketing & Analytics at the UCL School of Management, University College London. She holds a PhD in Marketing and MS in Statistics from Duke University, and degrees in Economics and Statistics from Peking University. Her research focuses on digital platforms, advertising strategies, and market dynamics, with publications in top journals like Management Science and Marketing Science. She serves as an Associate Editor for Service Science and Journal of Business Research, and was recognized as one of the Poets & Quants World’s Best 40-under-40 Business School Professors in 2022.
Education: PhD in Marketing (Duke University, 2015), MS in Statistics (Duke, 2012), MA Economics (Peking University, 2009), BA Economics and BS Statistics (Peking University, 2006).
Research interests include digital platforms, advertising targeting, e-commerce strategies, and operations management. Her work explores spillover effects in mobile apps, surge pricing in ride-sharing, and the impact of expert opinions on consumer ratings. She has received grants from Innovate UK and CEIBS, and her research has been finalist for major awards like the Weitz-Winer-O’Dell and Don Lehmann Awards.
Teaching: Core marketing courses for UCL-PKU MBA, MSc Management, and BSc Management Science programs. Advised PhD students including Xingyi Li and Fengtao Wan. Recognized with the UCL School of Management Best Teacher Award (2023).
Labs/Teams: Engaged in interdisciplinary projects on platform analytics, misinformation modeling, and green innovation policy. Collaborates with institutions globally, including Cambridge, Notre Dame, and Bocconi University.
