معرفی
Professor Yftah Tal-Gan is a faculty member at the University of Nevada, Reno, focusing on chemical biology and peptide chemistry to address biological challenges. His research targets quorum sensing pathways in Gram-positive bacteria for therapeutic applications, with a particular emphasis on Streptococcus species.
- Postdoctoral Research Associate, University of Wisconsin-Madison (2011-2014)
- Ph.D., M.S., M.B.A., and B.S. degrees from The Hebrew University of Jerusalem
Research interests center on developing cyclic peptides and analogs as chemical probes to study and modulate bacterial signaling systems, particularly those involved in virulence and antibiotic resistance. His work bridges synthetic chemistry and microbiology to create novel drug candidates.
Recent publications highlight advancements in quorum sensing modulation across multiple streptococcal species, cyclic peptide design for enhanced stability, and applications of nanomaterials in biomedical contexts. His lab also explores molecular interactions critical for receptor activation and signal transduction.
Professor Tal-Gan leads the Tal-Gan Research Group, which investigates the structural and functional aspects of bacterial communication peptides. His team develops synthetic strategies for peptidomimetics and studies their therapeutic potential in infectious diseases.
