Dr. Yasmine Kandil is an Associate Professor in the Department of Theatre at the University of Victoria, specializing in Applied Theatre. With academic credentials from the American University in Cairo (BA), University of Victoria (MFA), and University of Victoria (PhD), she has worked extensively with marginalized communities across Egypt, Canada, and internationally.

Dr. Kandil co-leads SSHRC-funded projects developing de-escalation training curricula for police officers. She has taught courses such as Theatre Appreciation, Introduction to Applied Theatre, and Applied Theatre II.
