Yasmine Ezzeddine is an Associate Lecturer in the Department of Computing at Sheffield Hallam University and a PhD candidate researching resistance and counter-strategies to surveillance and AI use by law enforcement. She also lectures at Staffordshire University’s Institute of Policing. Her expertise spans criminal intelligence, forensic sciences, security, policing, and societal aspects of applied psychology.

Research Interests: Yasmine’s work focuses on AI in law enforcement, surveillance counter-strategies, criminal intelligence, forensic sciences, and the societal implications of policing technologies. She contributes to projects like AIDA and AP4AI, exploring ethical AI deployment and public perspectives on surveillance.

- Associate Member of the Surveillance and Society Network (SSN)
- Chair of the Diversity Committee at SSN
- Area Coordinator for the Worldwide Association of Women Forensic Experts (WAWFE)
Labs/Teams: Yasmine is affiliated with the Centre of Excellence in Terrorism, Resilience, Intelligence, and Organised Crime Research (CENTRIC) and the Industry and Innovation Research Institute at Sheffield Hallam University.
