Dr. Clayton Jevne is a Continuing Sessional Instructor in the Department of Theatre at the University of Victoria. He holds a BFA, MFA, and PhD in Theatre from the same institution and currently teaches THEA 150: Public Speaking. His academic and creative work bridges theory and practice in actor training, performance pedagogy, and interdisciplinary arts.

Research & Creative Activity focuses on skill development theory in actor training, analyzing historical and contemporary methods to optimize pedagogical efficiency. His doctoral work developed a novel training framework grounded in empirical skill acquisition research.
Professional Contributions include founding Victoria's longest-running alternative theatre company, Theatre Inconnu, in 1987, and producing over 100 plays as actor, director, or designer. He has toured internationally as a solo performer and attended prestigious festivals in Canada, the U.S., and Europe.
Additional Experience spans a decade of professional puppetry in Canada and Europe, TV/film appearances, and leadership roles such as Head of the Speech and Drama section at Victoria Conservatory of Music (2000-2003). He served as Artist in Residence at Bishops University in 1995.
