Imelda Villalon

Imelda Villalon is a Senior Lecturer at Kwantlen Polytechnic University's Faculty of Interdisciplinary Expressive Arts. She holds an MFA in Theatre and Voice from York University, a B.A. in Sociology from UBC, and certifications in Yoga and Puppetry/Clown training. Her expertise spans Voice/Speech, Acting, and Interdisciplinary Creative Arts, with a focus on community-building through the arts.

She has taught Voice, Acting, and Shakespeare at institutions like York University, Wright State University, and the Centre For Indigenous Theatre. Imelda also serves as a vocal coach and director in stage/film projects and received a Municipal Grant to lead community arts and wellness programs in Gibsons, BC.

Research & Teaching: Imelda emphasizes interdisciplinary creativity and Indigenous storytelling. She integrates yoga and somatic practices into her vocal/acting pedagogy, fostering holistic artistic development.
