Nancy Clark is Associate Professor in the School of Nursing at the University of Victoria, specializing in community-engaged research with immigrant, refugee, ethno-cultural and racialized populations. As an affiliate with the UBC Centre for Migration Studies, her work applies intersectionality frameworks to mental health policy and equity-oriented care.
Research focuses on:
- Structural vulnerabilities in displaced populations
- Culturally safe mental health services
- Arts-based participatory methods
- Anti-racism in healthcare systems
Current projects include CIHR-funded initiatives on mental health access for Black refugees and SSHRC-supported work on LGBTQIA+ migrant students' wellbeing. Recent publications examine refugee mental health through photovoice, race data collection in healthcare, and Indigenous-led harm reduction programs.
