Yaoxian Huang

Yaoxian Huang is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering at Wayne State University. His research focuses on atmospheric chemistry, air pollution impacts on human health, and big data applications in environmental science.

• PhD in Environmental Engineering from Michigan Technological University (2014)
• Postdoctoral training at University of Michigan (2017-2019), Yale University (2016-2017), and NOAA (2015-2016)

His work combines 3D chemical transport models with observational data to study pollution sources, particularly from biomass burning, vehicle emissions, and industrial activities. Recent publications analyze global health risks from VOCs, ozone formation regimes, and PM2.5 exposure.

Scientific awards include MTU Doctoral Finishing Fellowship, NSF Early Career Scientist Travel Award, and Wayne State University Research Award. He teaches courses in air pollution engineering and atmospheric chemistry.
