Dr. Yanlin Guo is a Professor in the Department of Biological Sciences at the University of Southern Mississippi (USM). His research focuses on stem cell differentiation mechanisms and the development of innate immunity, using mouse embryonic stem cells as a model system. He joined USM in 2004 after postdoctoral training at the University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine and Temple University School of Medicine.
Education:
- PhD in Biological Sciences, University of Texas at Austin (1996)
- BS in Biological Sciences, Hebei Normal University (1992)
Research interests include understanding the molecular basis of innate immunity in embryonic stem cells, their differentiation processes, and implications for regenerative medicine. His work bridges developmental biology, immunology, and stem cell biology, emphasizing the unique immune quiescence of embryonic cells and its functional consequences.
Teaching responsibilities include courses such as Principles of Biological Science I, Cell Biology, Molecular Biology, and Cell Signaling. No specific grants or advising information is provided in the text.
