Yang Mi Kim serves as an Instructor of Landscape Architecture in the School of Planning, Design and Construction at Michigan State University and holds an adjunct faculty position at Texas A&M University.

Research Focus: Her work centers on digital design communication methodologies, healthy community design frameworks, built environment impacts on active living, and landscape architecture planning strategies. She has pioneered online course development in digital communication supported by institutional grants.
Professional Contributions: Kim received a $75,000 teaching pedagogy grant from Texas A&M University to develop digital communication curricula now implemented in undergraduate and graduate programs. Prior to academia, she practiced for five years as a landscape architect at Samsung Everland Inc. in South Korea.
