Yahya C. Kurama is Professor of Civil and Environmental Engineering at the University of Notre Dame's College of Engineering. His research examines seismic performance of concrete structures, precast/prestressed concrete systems, structural behavior under fire exposure, and sustainable construction materials.
Professor Kurama has received numerous prestigious awards including the PCI Zollman Award (twice), ASCE State-of-the-Art Award, and NSF CAREER Award. His teaching excellence has been recognized with Notre Dame's Joyce Award (twice) and PCI Educator honors.
He holds a Ph.D. from Lehigh University and is a registered professional engineer in Indiana and Michigan.
