Dr. Xinliang Liu serves as Associate Professor and Associate Chair in the Department of Population Health at Lehigh University, bringing over a decade of expertise at the intersection of medicine, economics, and health services research.
His educational background includes:
- Bachelor of Medicine
- Master's degree in Health Economics and Policy Research
- Doctorate in Health Services Organization and Research from Virginia Commonwealth University
Dr. Liu's research focuses on health services utilization, costs, quality of care, and healthcare organization performance evaluation. He develops innovative methodological approaches for analyzing real-world clinical and policy issues—including treatment patterns, medical complications, and intervention effectiveness—using secondary data sources. Primary research interests span Health Services Research, Health Economics, Health Policy, Population Health, Healthcare Quality, and Healthcare Operations.
He has led numerous collaborative research projects with clinicians across specialties, generating empirical evidence on healthcare value from population health perspectives with direct implications for transforming clinical delivery systems.
