Professor Xiaoyang Qi is a tenured Primary Faculty Member in the Department of Internal Medicine, Division of Hematology-Oncology, at the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine. He also holds Secondary Faculty Appointments in Pediatrics, Pathology, and Biomedical Engineering. His research focuses on developing SapC-DOPS nanovesicles for cancer-selective targeting and therapy, with applications in glioblastoma, pancreatic cancer, and neuroblastoma.

His work on SapC-DOPS nanovesicles has demonstrated tumor-specific targeting, non-toxic delivery of imaging agents, and induction of apoptosis via mitochondrial activation. These nanovesicles bind phosphatidylserine (PS) on tumor cells, enabling theranostic applications across multiple cancers.
