Xianping Liu

Professor Xianping Liu is a faculty member in the Department of Mechanical Engineering at the University of Warwick. His research focuses on precision engineering, functional surface design, nanometrology, and biomedical applications of atomic force microscopy. He leads projects on advanced manufacturing processes such as self-pierce riveting and tribological probe microscopy. Notable grants include EU-funded initiatives like FabSurfWAR (2015-2019) and BioRA (2013-2017). He has been awarded Marie Curie and Royal Society fellowships.

Research interests include: Precision Engineering, Instrumentation Design, Surface Characterization, Nanotribology, Biomedical Robotics, and Functional Materials. His work explores mechanical properties of biological cells, advanced sensor development, and robotic systems for large-scale manufacturing.
