Xiahong Feng is the Frederick Hall Professor of Mineralogy and Geology and a Professor of Earth Sciences at Dartmouth College. Her research focuses on interdisciplinary approaches to global and local environmental problems, utilizing stable isotopic ratios and elemental concentrations in natural materials.
- Education: B.S. and M.S. in Geology from Peking University, Ph.D. in Earth Sciences from Case Western Reserve University.
Her research interests include studying stable oxygen and hydrogen isotopic variations in hydrological processes, solute transport in watersheds, decomposition mechanisms of organic matter, and paleoclimate reconstruction through tree rings. Recent projects examine Arctic precipitation isotopes, sea ice impacts on hydrological cycles, and marine boundary layer vapor dynamics.
Her publications span environmental chemistry, atmospheric physics, and glaciology, with keywords such as Stable Isotope Geochemistry, Climate Dynamics, and Environmental Remediation. Key subfields include Arctic Hydrology, Isotopic Analysis, and Paleoclimatology.
