Wouter Staal

Prof. Wouter Staal is a Professor in the Department of Clinical Child and Adolescent Psychiatry at the Faculty of Medical Sciences, Radboud University Medical Center. He holds additional roles including Extraordinary Professor at Leiden University's Faculty of Social Sciences, Senior Advisor in Pediatric Neurology at Jilin University (China), and Clinical Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist at Karakter University Center. He chairs multiple organizations: Karakter Academie, the Scientific Council of the Knowledge Center for Child and Adolescent Psychiatry, and the Dutch Autism Association (NVvP). He also serves on the board of the Balans parent association and chairs an NVvP committee.

His expertise spans child and adolescent mental health, neurodevelopmental disorders, and autism spectrum disorders. He actively contributes to clinical practice, academic research, and policy through his advisory roles and institutional leadership.
