معرفی
Wonjae Chang is an Associate Professor of Environmental Engineering at the Department of Civil, Geological and Environmental Engineering, University of Saskatchewan, Canada. His research focuses on geoenvironmental and environmental engineering, integrating environmental chemistry, biotechnology, and materials science to develop sustainable technologies for contaminated site remediation, desalination, and waste-to-valuables conversion.
- Ph.D., Environmental Engineering, McGill University
- M.Sc., Geoenvironmental Engineering, University of Alberta
- B.Sc., Civil Engineering, Hanyang University
His research addresses physicochemical and biological processes in contaminated systems, emphasizing cold climates, high salinity, and microbial communities. Projects include hybrid bioremediation-desalination systems, engineered mineral materials for resource recovery, and cold-climate bioremediation.
- COVID 19 Teaching Award (2021-2023)
- Outstanding Reviewer Award, ASCE (2014)
He supervises a multidisciplinary team of Ph.D., M.Sc., and M.Eng. students, collaborates with researchers at Beijing Normal University, National Hydrology Research Centre, and co-supervises projects with Dr. Kerry McPhedran and Dr. Joyce McBeth. Professional roles include Associate Editor of Environmental Engineering Research and grant reviewer for NSERC, Mitacs, and Chilean CONICYT.
