Patrick J. Fox

Patrick J. Fox is the Dean of the Russ College of Engineering and Technology at Ohio University. He holds a Ph.D. in Civil and Environmental Engineering from the University of Wisconsin–Madison (1992) and is a licensed professional engineer in Ohio, a Diplomate of Geotechnical Engineering from the Academy of Geo-Professionals, and a Fellow of ASCE.

Dr. Fox specializes in geotechnical and geoenvironmental engineering, with a focus on multiphase consolidation, geosynthetic-reinforced soil systems, contaminant transport, and seismic performance of infrastructure. Recent publications highlight his work on consolidation modeling of layered soils, deformation behavior of geosynthetic-reinforced bridge abutments, heat transfer analysis in saturated soils, and seismic stability of reinforced earth structures.
