معرفی
Won Min Park is an Associate Professor in the Tim Taylor Department of Chemical Engineering at Kansas State University, where he joined in August 2018 after postdoctoral training at MIT.
His educational background includes:
- Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering from Georgia Institute of Technology (2015)
- M.S. in Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering from Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology (2009)
- B.S. in Chemical Engineering from Hanyang University (2007)
Dr. Park's research focuses on developing protein nanomaterials with nano-topological, biocatalytic, and optical properties using proteins as building blocks. His lab employs a modular strategy integrating computational modeling and experimental characterization to design recombinant fusion proteins that self-assemble into supramolecular nanomaterials for biological and biomedical applications.
His notable awards include:
- Notable Korean Scientist by the Biological Research Information Center (Korea) in 2013, 2014, and 2016
- Exemplary Academic Achievement Award during graduate studies
- James T. Porter Fellowship
- Faculty Excellence in Chemical Engineering Award (2025)
Dr. Park mentors undergraduate and graduate students in his Protein Nanoengineering Group. Recent lab activities include Aishwarya joining the team in January 2025 and Eiliya receiving the Undergraduate Cancer Research Award from Johnson Cancer Research Center in October 2024.
The interdisciplinary research group combines experimental and computational methods to engineer next-generation protein-based technologies for solving biological engineering challenges at the nanoscale.
