Wim Huisman

Wim Huisman is a Full Professor at the Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam, affiliated with the VU School of Criminology and the Faculty of Law. He serves as Co-Editor in Chief of Crime, Law & Social Change and was co-chair of the ASC Division of White-Collar and Corporate Crime (2020–2022). Huisman founded the European Working Group on Organizational Crime (EUROC) and remains an active board member.

His research spans white-collar crime, corporate crime, organized crime, corruption, environmental crime, and food fraud, with recent projects examining criminal careers of white-collar offenders, corporate complicity in human rights violations, and prevention of food fraud. He has conducted visiting professorships at Griffith University, Northeastern University, and Mekelle University.

Recent publications highlight trends in regulatory compliance, financial crime prevention, and crime script analysis. Awards include the ASC Division of White-Collar and Corporate Crime Outstanding Book Chapter Award (2023).
