Wilson Wong is an Associate Professor and Founding Director of the Data Science and Policy Studies (DSPS) Programme at the Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK), Faculty of Social Science. He holds an honorary Senior Research Fellow position at University College London (UCL) School of Management and is a Fellow at Stanford University’s Center of Advanced Study in the Behavioral Sciences (CASBS), focusing on 'Data Science and the State.' His research bridges technology, governance, and public policy, with expertise in AI, big data, digital governance, and innovation policy.
Education: MPA and Ph.D. in Public Administration from Syracuse University. Visiting fellowships at Harvard University (Harvard-Yenching Institute) and the Brookings Institution. Editorial roles include Lead Area Editor of Data & Policy (Cambridge University Press) and Associate Editor of Nature Humanities and Social Science.
Research focuses on AI's societal impact, digital governance frameworks, and disruptive technologies in public administration. Active in knowledge transfer through executive education (Tsinghua, Syracuse, HKUST) and consulting, including a synthetic data & privacy project with Roche.
