William W. Berry III is a Professor of Law and Associate Dean for Research at the University of Mississippi School of Law, where he also directs the Cambridge Summer Abroad Program. Holding a J.D., M.Sc., and Ph.D. in Law from Vanderbilt, Oxford, and Oxford respectively, he specializes in Eighth Amendment jurisprudence, Criminal Sentencing, and Sports/Entertainment Law.

His research focuses on constitutional limits related to capital punishment, juvenile sentencing, and NCAA regulations, with particular interest in name, image, and likeness (NIL) laws. Scientific accolades include the Frank Montague Jr. Professorship of Legal Studies and Montague Professor of Law distinction. He teaches courses on Criminal Law, Sports Law, and Entertainment Law, among others.
