معرفی
Dr. William Grey is an MRC Career Development Award Fellow in the Department of Biology at the University of York. His research focuses on proteostasis in hematopoietic stem cells and acute myeloid leukemia (AML), with a particular emphasis on understanding how protein homeostasis regulates normal and malignant stem cell behavior. He completed his PhD at King's College London and conducted postdoctoral research at The Francis Crick Institute. Grey has received significant funding, including the John Goldman Fellowship and MRC grants, and leads a lab investigating therapeutic strategies targeting leukaemic stem cells.
Research interests include the role of proteostatic regulators like CKS1/CKS2 in HSC function, RET kinase signaling in stem cell maintenance, and drug development for AML. His work bridges basic science and clinical applications, aiming to improve outcomes for AML patients by targeting treatment resistance and relapse mechanisms.
- Awards: MRC Career Development Award, John Goldman Fellowship (Leukaemia UK), Sir David Cooksey Translation Award
- Funding: MRC grants, Children's Cancer and Leukaemia Group, Leukaemia UK
Lab members include PDRA researchers, PhD students, and clinical collaborators. Ongoing projects explore proteome-transcriptome disconnects in HSCs, signaling pathways in AML, and translational approaches for targeting leukaemic stem cells.
