William Damon is a Professor of Education at Stanford University, Director of the Stanford Center on Adolescence, and Senior Fellow at the Hoover Institution (by courtesy). He has pioneered the scientific study of purpose in life across the lifespan, with notable works including The Path to Purpose and Good Work (co-authored with Howard Gardner and Mihaly Csikszentmihalyi).
