Will Roth

Will Roth serves as a Lecturer in the Department of Expeditionary Studies at SUNY Plattsburgh’s School of Education, Health & Human Services. He also works as an adjunct instructor for North Country Community Colleges’ Wilderness Recreation Leadership program and as a local climbing guide. His expertise is rooted in outdoor recreation education and technical safety certifications.

• B.S. in Outdoor Recreation from Plymouth State University
• Single Pitch Instructor certification from the American Mountain Guides Association (AMGA)
• Wilderness First Responder
• AIARE Level II avalanche training

Roth is actively pursuing advanced AMGA certifications, including the Rock Guide Course. His professional work blends academic instruction with hands-on outdoor leadership, focusing on wilderness safety and expeditionary skills. Outside academia, he volunteers for the DEC’s Technical Rescue Team and explores new rock and ice climbing routes domestically and internationally.
